A bar is a service which restricts certain features provided by the network. This can be to stop a lost or stolen phone from being used, restrict charges on the mobile phone bill, or to prevent certain features that a customer does not want available on a device.

To check if any bars are active on your number, from the dial pad dial *#33#.

This will display the status of any bars on your device. (The image above shows what a phone with no active bars will look like)

The only bars DV02 use are:

  • Voice call barring: if this is enabled it means no outgoing calls can be made from the phone
  • Data call barring: if this is enabled it means mobile data cannot be used (the phone can still connect to wifi)
  • SMS call barring: if this is enabled it means text messages cannot be sent from the phone.

If one or more of the services is barred 'Enabled' will be displayed as shown below.

For a more advanced break down of barring on a number please call into our mobile support team or raise a ticket.
